You can see how much money you've made on the Sales Report page of your account (under the Money & Analytics tab).
Depending on your Unlimited Plan, you can do the following customized viewing on this page:
- Filter your results by release title, song, sales date range, country/territory, & store
-Note: The "World Wide" country filter is only used for Meta sales postings. To see your global earnings, make sure you have checked the box for each country in the Country filter. - Click “Download This Report” from the filtered sales screen you are viewing to download a .csv file
- Sort columns
- Get an immediate sum on top of your filtered results which reflects the cumulative earnings based on your filtering
You can also download your official Monthly Sales Reports. These sales reports include the following columns:
- Sales Period: the period of time when your music was sold in the respective stores
- Posted Date: the date that the report appeared in your account
- Store Name: the digital store that paid you for the reported sales period
- Country of Sale: the territory of the store where the sale occurred
- Artist: the artist name of the release, song, or ringtone that was sold
- Release Type: album, song, or ringtone (a single is reported as a song sale)
- Release Title: the title of the album, song, or ringtone
- Song Title: if the sale occurred as a song purchase and not an entire album, the song name that was purchased shows (see note below)
- Label: the label listed on the release, song, or ringtone
- UPC: the TuneCore generated UPC of the release, song, or ringtone (disregard this if you submitted your own UPC)
- Optional UPC: if applicable, the UPC you entered on your own in TuneCore (note, you will see a "UPC" value as well, but you can disregard this since your own UPC was reported in the sale)
- TC Song ID: TuneCore generated Song ID (disregard this if you submitted your own ISRC)
- Optional ISRC: if applicable, the ISRC you submitted on your own in TuneCore (note, you will see a "TC Song ID" value as well, but you can disregard this since your own ISRC was reported in the sale)
- Sales Type: Download or Stream
- # Units Sold: as reported to us by the store, the # of albums, songs, or ringtones sold in a reporting day.
- Per Unit Price: the price of 1 unit sold in that stated country's currency
- Net Sales: the amount of money paid out by the store after keeping their percentage of a sale × # of units. If your Spotify sales have a negative number here, that reflects Spotify Discovery Mode commissions.
- Net Sales Currency: the currency of the Net Sales amount
- Exchange Rate: the currency conversion rate stated at a specific time for that country into US Dollars (TuneCore pays you in US Dollars only)
- Total Earned: the amount you received in your TuneCore account after the stated exchange rate
- Currency: This will always be USD since we pay out in US Dollars only
Please note: iTunes automatically reports sales for albums with 10 tracks or less as individual track sales. The reason for this is their pricing: if an album has 10 tracks or less, iTunes automatically prices it as $0.99 x no. of tracks (i.e. an album with 10 tracks is 10 x $0.99 = $9.90). Therefore, there is no difference in price between buying the whole album or just buying the tracks individually. If an album has 11 tracks or more, however, iTunes will price it at $9.99 (so it becomes cheaper to purchase the whole album than to purchase all of the tracks individually).
Balance History
On the "Balance History" page under the "Money & Analytics" tab, you can view transactions in your account by music sales, purchases, withdrawals, and more.
The store name for sales transactions in your Balance History will match the store name on your Sales Report page.
YouTube Content ID Reports
Starting with the July 2023 YouTube Content ID posting, Content ID sales will no longer be posted in a separate report. Instead, YouTube Content ID revenue will be combined with YouTube Music revenue on both your Sales Reports page and your downloadable sales reports. You will be able to download your historical YouTube Content ID reports, but new ones will not be generated.
Why are these changes being made?
We’re upgrading our system so we can streamline our sales postings and make loading your sales reports (and our whole website) a smoother experience!
What will my Content ID revenue look like on my Sales Report page?
Content ID and YouTube Music sales will be combined under the “YouTube” store name and filter. This means:
- Monetizable views will now be included in the “Streams” column
- Content ID revenue will now be included in the “Total” column
- “Releases Sold” and “Songs Sold” will not include Content ID information
How can I tell the difference between YouTube Music and YouTube Content ID on my downloadable sales reports?
- Video ID, Commission Rate, and Policy Type columns will be added to your downloadable sales reports to show extra data included in Content ID reports!
-Information in these columns indicates Content ID revenue.
-For all other stores, these columns will be left blank. - Fields that do not apply to Content ID earnings (Optional UPC, Optional ISRC, etc.) will be left blank
Why does it seem like I have fewer YouTube views in my sales report?
Sales reports will no longer include any YouTube records that did not generate revenue. If you notice a drop in your reported views, it's most likely because of this update! Keeping in mind that sales fluctuate with each posting, if your views look lower but your earnings stayed roughly the same from the last posting to the current one, there's nothing to worry about!
If you still believe there is an issue, please contact us with proof of the inconsistency and the corresponding TuneCore data for that particular release and time period and our team can begin investigating.
