Will I receive a 1099-MISC from TuneCore?
If you were paid at least $5 in royalties during the tax year, TuneCore will provide you a 1099-MISC for tax filing purposes. (We are no longer providing 1042-S forms to non-U.S. users).
If you use TuneCore for both distribution and Publishing Administration, you will receive two separate 1099s, one for distribution and one for publishing.
Please note: S-Corps will not receive 1099s.

How Do I Reclaim My Backup Withholding?
If you have had tax withheld and you have already provided an updated W-9, it is possible to reclaim backup withholding as a tax credit when filing your income tax return. TuneCore cannot reclaim the funds on your behalf or re-deposit them back into your TuneCore account.
You can report the federal income tax withholding (shown on Form 1099-MISC) on your return for the year you received the income.
