At this time, Amazon Music (United States only) is the only store that allows you to mark one or more tracks, or an entire release as a
free download
.
To make one or more tracks, or an entire release available for free in the Amazon Music U.S. store:
- Please download the Word document below. The document is a waiver that says you understand you will not earn any money from the downloads of your track(s) on Amazon Music.
- If you want to have more than one song available for free download, enter every TuneCore Song ID/ISRC on the form. If you run out of room, please add additional UPCs or ISRCs on page two.
- Once you have completed the form, email us here from the email address registered to your TuneCore account. Make sure you attach your Word document to the email.
- If later on, you want to change your wholesale price tier, please email TuneCore Customer Care from the email address registered to your account and include the UPC number, the tracks you wish to change, and the price tier. Please allow 1-2 weeks for stores to process the change.
NOTE: Amazon can dictate the retail price of products in their store. This process makes the wholesale price $0.00.
iTunes
There is no way to sell a song for free in the iTunes music store through TuneCore distribution. If you see a song available for free download in iTunes, this is because it was at the request of the iTunes editorial team.
TuneCore Media Player
The TuneCore Media Player allows full song streaming with a direct link to purchase your music from the iTunes store. The media player also allows you to send fans a free download of a song of your choice in exchange for an email address.
