Although TuneCore always delivers your release information exactly how you submitted it to us, sometimes a DSP’s auto-formatting processes may result in your release appearing on another person’s artist page, or another artist’s release appearing on your page. We typically refer to these as “mapping errors”. Don’t worry, it’s an easy fix!
The solutions to each scenario are listed below:
Another artist’s release is on my Spotify Artist page
If you noticed a release that isn’t yours has been uploaded to your Spotify account, here’s what you can do yourself:
- Make sure you’re logged into your Spotify for Artists account
- You must have a verified (with a blue check-mark) Spotify for Artists profile. Not verified yet? No problem, you can do this directly in your Spotify for Artists account.
- Access the following form: https://artists.spotify.com/c/content-mismatch
- Choose “Another artist’s release is on my profile”
- You’ll be asked to confirm the email address and artist name(s) associated with your account.
- Next, you’ll indicate which release does not belong to you.
- Spotify indicates that it may take up to 15 business days to process a disassociation request.
My release is on the wrong Spotify Artist page
- Make sure you’re logged into your Spotify for Artists account
- You must have a verified (with a blue check-mark) Spotify for Artists profile. Not verified yet? No problem, you can do this directly in your Spotify for Artists account.
- Access the following form: https://artists.spotify.com/c/content-mismatch
- Choose “Some of my music is on another artist’s profile”
- You’ll be asked to submit some information about where your release is appearing, and where it should be appearing instead.
My release is on the wrong Apple Artist page
- Log in to your TuneCore account and access your My Artists page here
- Choose the artist that’s appearing on the wrong Apple Music page
- Click “Releases - Artist IDs” on the left side of the screen
- Then click “Manage” on the right
- Based on your specific situation, choose either
- I already have an existing Apple Artist page
- I do not have an existing Apple Artist page
- Enter the requested information then choose “Create Request” or “Update Releases,” respectively.
A release is appearing incorrectly in another store
For all other stores or scenarios, you’ll need to contact TuneCore’s Artist Support team. Make sure to include the following information in your first email so we can resolve the mapping error on the first try:
- Your TuneCore email address
- Your release information (UPC, album ID, release name, or other identifying info)
- The stores where your release is appearing on the wrong page (ex. Deezer, BOOM, etc.)
- Your artist page link for each of those stores (where the release should be)
- Links to where the release is currently available (the wrong profile links)
Most digital platforms process artist separation requests in 1-2 weeks. Amazon Music, however, processes these requests in 3-5 weeks.
